Martin Garrix is a Dutch record producer and DJ, who is also known as GRX and YTRAM. He was born Martijn Gerard Garritsen, on the 14th of May, 1996, in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Garritsen graduated from the Herman Brood Academy, as a record producer in 2013. He started remixing and recording tracks until he was discovered by the Dutch label Spinnin Records, with whom he signed in 2012. Soon after, he released the track “Error 404” alongside Jay Hardway. His first major breakthrough came in 2013 when he released the single “Animals”. It became a total hit, and Garritsen became the youngest musician to reach number one on Beatport’s Chart. That year, he appeared as number 40 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. Garritsen has toured extensively across seas and in Europe, performing in major festivals such as Coachella, Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland. From 2016, to 2018, Garritsen was ranked number one on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list.
