Martin Trevor Heinrich is a Democratic politician and a senior United States who has served as the New Mexico representative since 2013. He was born in Fallon, Nevada, United States, on October 17, 1971.
Prior to his political career, Heinrich worked as an engineer and then founded his own small business in the renewable energy industry. He entered politics in 2003, serving as a city councilor and then as a representative in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. He then served as a representative in the United States House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013 before being elected to the Senate, succeeding Jeff Bingman as the New Mexico.
As a senator, Heinrich has been an advocate for renewable energy and environmental protection, as well as for immigration reform and access to healthcare. He has also been a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and the Senate Committee on Armed Services.
