Marty Friedman is an American guitarist born in Washington D.C. on December 8, 1962. He is known for playing in the heavy metal band Megadeth and Cacophony. He taught himself to play the guitar at 14 years old after going to a KISS concert. Early in his career he helped form the bands Deuce, Hawaii, and Cacophony. Cacophony disbanded in 1989 and in 1990 Friedman became part of the band Megadeth. While he was with the band they released 5 albums. He left the band in 2000 to focus on his solo career. In 1988 he released his debut studio album titled Dragon’s Kiss and has since released the albums Scenes, Introduction, True Obsessions, Music for Speeding, Loudspeaker, Future Addict, Tokyo Jukebox, Bad D.N.A., Tokyo Jukebox 2, Metal Clone X, Inferno, Wall of Sound, and One Bad M.F. Live!!. He moved to Japan in 2003 and has appeared on over 700 Japanese television programs.
