Marwin Gonzalez is a professional baseball player who plays for Orix Buffaloes that competes in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Born on 14th March 1989 in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, Gonzalez started his career on 23rd November 2005 with the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent. From 2006 to 2011, he played in the team’s cub system and went on to reach the Triple-A level with Iowa Cubs in 2011.
In 2012, he made the Opening Day roster of the Houston Astros. He went on to have an impressive 6-year spell with the Astros before joining Minnesota Twins on 25th February 2019 on a two-year deal. In 202, he joined Boston Red Sox on a one-year deal before returning to the Astros in August 2021. He was included in Astros’ major league roster on 5th September. In March 2022, he signed with New York Yankees and made their Opening Day roster at the start of the 2022 season. In December 2022, he joined Orix Buffaloes.
