Mary-Louise Parker Bio

Mary-Louise Parker is an American actress and writer born in Fort Jackson, South Carolina on August 2, 1964. She made her acting debut in the late 1980 in the soap opera Ryan’s Hope and has since had roles in the shows The West Wing, Angels in America, Weeds, The Blacklist, When We Rise, Billions, and Mr. Mercedes. In 1989 she made her debut on stage in a production of The Art of Success. Parker made her Broadway debut in the play Prelude to a Kiss. She has also had roles in productions of Four Dogs and a Bone, Bus Stop, How I Learned to Drive, Proof, Reckless, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Hedda Gabler, The Snow Geese, Heisenberg, and The Sound Inside. In 1989 she made her debut in film in the movie Signs of Life and continued landing roles in the films Longtime Companion, Grand Canyon, Mr. Wonderful, The Client, Naked in New York, Bullets over Broadway, Boys on the Side, The Portrait of a Lady, The Maker, Goodbye Lover, Pipe Dream, The Best There in the World, Solitary Man, Howl, Red and others. In 2015 her memoir letters were compiled into a book titled Dear Mr. You by Scribner Books. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won two Golden Globe Awards, a Theatre Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, a Tony Award and more.
