Mas Ysa Bio
Mas Ysa is the name of the solo project of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Tom Arsenault. He was born Thomas Arsenault, on the 28th of August, 1983, in Montreal, Canada. He began composing electronic music while studying in high school, and later he pursued his studies at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, studying Modern Composition. In 2012, he started working with Rashaun Mitchell on his dance piece “Interface”. He performed alongside Mitchell at the Concord Academy as well as at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York. In 2013, Arsenault toured alongside Deerhunter across the U.S. In 2013, he collaborated with Purity Ring and he took part in the Downtown Music Festival. He is managed by Rich Zerbo, co-founder of the record label The Social Registry. He released under that label the EPs “Worth” in 2014 and “Seraph” in 2015.
