Matt Barnes was born March 9, 1980, in Santa Clara, California. Matt went to Del Campo High School where he excelled in basketball and football. While attending college at UCLA, he successfully played basketball for several seasons. The Memphis Grizzlies drafted Matt in the 2002 NBA draft. He was later traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and then joined the Fayetteville Patriots. In 2004, he signed with the Sacramento Kings. He was later traded to the Philadelphia 76er. In 2006, Matt was traded to the Golden State Warriors and played two seasons with them. In 2008, he signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns. Later on, Matt made another transition to the LA Lakers then back to the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2016, he signed back to one the Sacramento Kings.
