Matthew Ryan Kemp, better known as Matt Kemp, is an American professional baseball player who played as an outfielder in Major League Baseball. He was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma, United States, on September 23, 1984.
Matt began his professional baseball career in 2003 when he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth round of the MLB Draft. He played for the Gulf Coast Dodgers, Columbus Catfish, and Vero Beach Dodgers before making his professional debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006. He went on to spend eight seasons with the Dodgers which saw him play alongside Carl Crawford, Mark Ellis, Adrián González, and Andre Ethier.
