Matt Reeves was born April 27, 1966 in Rockville Centre, New York. He grew up in Los Angeles, California. He is well-known as a writer, director and producer. His love of films and film-making began when he was a young boy with a wind-up camera and an eye for style and direction. While still in college at the University of Southern California, he produced a film, Mr. Petrified Forest, which not only won awards but was enough for him to land an agent. Writing a script that would become Under Siege 2: Dark Territory also happened before graduation. Since then, he has continued to grown an impressive list of credits, including The Pallbearer (1996), Felicity (1998-2001), Cloverfield (2008) War For The Planet of The Apes (2017) and his re-vamping of the tried and true comic book, The Batman, due sometime in 2019. He won a Filmmaker’s Showcase Award in 2008 from the Academy of Science Fiction.
