Matt Yoakum (who’s popularly known as Matt Slays) is an American YouTuber, singer-songwriter and music producer who was born on July 17th 1980 in Pueblo, Colorado, United States. Matt attended Western Oregon University before he got his career started working in sales for Hilton Hotels.
Matt rose to fame as a musician where he is famous for posting his own music on his Matt Slays YouTube channel. The channel now has over 5 million subscribers. Some of the well-known musicians he has worked with include Joshua David Evans. Matt has also directed a number of web episodes and shorts in addition to being an editor, composer, and cinematographer.
