Matt Stefanina was born in Virginia on October 20, 1986. He started dancing when he was 18. He joined local talent competitions and, later on, he received an offer to be the head choreographer of the hip-hop dance crew in the University of Virginia. He started competing on the east coast while teaching dance. He eventually left his teaching post and focused on being a full-time dancing.
In 2010, he moved to Los Angeles and worked with artists such as DJ Tiesto, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown. He has also performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Aside from those appearances, he is active in YouTube and social media. In 2012, he created Dance Tutorials LIVE which received more than 10 million views in its first year. Dance companies and magazines also praised the tutorial.
