Max Richter is a German music contemporary classical and post-minimalist composer. He was born on the 22nd of March, 1966, in Hamelin, Lower Saxony, Germany. He studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music, as well as with Luciano Berio, in Italy. After his studies, he co-founded the ensemble Piano Circus. The group was signed to the label Decca/Argo, producing five albums in which they collaborated with musicians such as Brian Eno, Julia Wolfe and Philip Glass, among many artists. In 2000, Richter collaborated with Roni Size on the Reprazent’s album “In the Møde”. He also produced Vashti Bunyan’s album “Lookaftering” as well as Kelli Ali’s “Rocking Horse”. Richter is also known for composing music for opera, ballet, theatre and movies. As a soloist, he has released eight studio albums, among which stands “Infra” and “Sleep” released in 2015.
