Max Scherzer was born in Chesterfield, Missouri on July 27, 1984. He was the first round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft. He currently plays for Washington Nationals and serves as the starting pitcher He made his MLB debut on April 2008. Scherzer played in the All-Star Games from 2013 to 2018. He also won the Cy Young Award three times, for AL in 2013, and NL in 2016, and 2017. For those years, he was also the Pitcher of the Year. He was also named as the Pitcher of the Month five times – twice in 2015 and in 2018 and once in 2017. He also received the Player of the Week award four times. He opted to sign a deal with the Washington Nationals as a free agent in 2015.
