Mayorkun Bio
Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel was born on March 24, 1993 in Osun State, Nigeria, Africa. His stage name Mayorkun is a combination of his nickname Mayor and a Japanese name Kun. Mayorkun is a singer and songwriter who lives in Lagos, Nigeria. His music is a combination of pop/R&B/Hip Hop and was discovered by Davido on social media. Mayorkun signed a record deal with Davido’s imprint HKN Gang. His first single called Eleko had 1,000,000 views within 10 days, which was the fastest of any debut music video on YouTube Nigeria. He went on his first International tour in August 2016. Also In 2016, Mayorkun won the Rookie of the Year Award from the Headies, the Choice New Song of the Year Award from 2016 Nigerian Teen Choice, and the Most Promising Act of the Year Award from the City People Entertainment.
