Mayte Jannell Garcia, widely known as Mayte Garcia, is an accomplished American actress, dancer, and singer with a vast portfolio of work in film, television, and music. She was born in Fort Rucker, Alabama, United States, on November 12, 1973.
Mayte’s career in entertainment began in the early 1990s when she was discovered as a dancer by the legendary singer Prince, with whom she went on to perform as a member of his dance group, The New Power Generation. She showcased her exceptional dance skills in several music videos and live performances during her time with Prince, which earned her recognition in the music industry. In 1995, she released her first and only music album, Child of the Sun.
Mayte made her acting debut in 2003 when she appeared in the film Love Don't Cost a Thing, which featured Nick Cannon and Christina Milian. Since then, she has acted in various TV series, including Big Shots, Psych, Las Vegas, 2 Broke Girls, Army Wives, and The Closer, among others.
