Megadeth Bio
Megadeth is an American heavy metal band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California after guitarist and songwriter Dave Mustaine left Metallica. It originally consisted of Mustaine, bassist Dave Ellefson, guitarist Chris Poland, and drummer Gar Samuelson, although only Mustain and Ellefson have stood as core members throughout the many lineup changes the band has gone through. In 1984 the band made its debut with the full-length "Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!" and has since released fifteen albums, three live albums, five compilation albums, and more than 38 single releases. While they have been nominated 12 times for the Grammys, it was only in 2017 that they won the Best Metal Performance prize for the album "Dystopia." Megadeth counts as one of the genre's most successful bands, selling more than 38 million records worldwide.
