Television actress Melanie Chandra was born on February 28th, 1984 in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, in the United States. After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in mechanical engineering, she started working for a consulting firm. Despite this, she didn't stay at the company for very long before deciding to pursue a career in modelling and acting instead. 2015 was the year that brought her her first major break, in which she played Fareeda in The Brink. After that, she was cast as Malaya Pineda in the series Code Black, and in 2017 she was given the role of Roli in the series Brown Nation. She is a co-founder of the non-profit organisation Hospital for Hope, which is committed to providing medical care to people living in rural areas of India. In addition, she currently stars alongside Marcia Gay Harden and Bonnie Somerville in the CBS series Code Black.
