Melanie Sykes Bio

Melanie Sykes (born August 7, 1970 in Manchester, England, UK) is an actress, producer, and presenter, best known for Justified Technophobe (2000), The Autistic Revolution, and Celebrities Under Pressure (2003). She was previously married to Jack Cockings and Daniel Caltagirone.

Melanie carved a respectable career on BBC Radio and Today with Des and Mel, aired until 2006. As a presenter, she is best known for presenting Today with Des and Mel in 2006, a popular show hosted by Melanie and Des O’Connor. In 2011, she hosted Let’s Do Lunch with Gino & Mel and Let's Do Christmas with Gino & Mel alongside Gino D'Acampo. As an awards presenter, she has hosted such prestigious events as the BAFTA Awards and The British Soap Awards.

In 2016, Melanie launched her lifestyle website. Her books, Blooming Beautiful and Surviving Hormonal Havoc, reflect Melanie’s passion for health and wellbeing. In 2021, aged 51, Melanie was diagnosed with Autism. She describes her diagnosis as 'life-affirming' and now shares her personal experiences of being neurodiverse.
