Methyl Ethel is an indie rock trio from Perth, part of a thriving music scene emerging in the indie world, with the line-up Jake Webb (vocals, guitar), Thom Stewart (bass), and Chris Wright (drums). The group started off as a strictly independent affair, with two self-released EPs. Then Rolling Stone magazine picked them out of the CMJ festival as one of the “ten new artists you need to know” of 2015, and they soon had a record contract with 4AD Records. They have since released two studio albums, “Oh Inhuman Spectacle” (2015) and “Everything Is Forgotten” (2017).
Methyl Ethel has recruited musician James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys) to act as their producer. The group has enjoyed worldwide tours accompanied by bands such as Pond and Preoccupations.
