Metronomy is an English electronic music band formed in 1999. The band was founded by Joseph Mount, while he was a teenager, still living in Devon, England. Over the years, Metronomy became a band, as it was joined by Oscar Cash, Gbenga Adelekan, and Anna Prior. They are known for their mixing vocals and instruments with electronic pop music. In 2006, Metronomy released their debut album titled “Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)” which featured their incipient signature sound as a blend of instrumental new wave electro-pop. In 2008, they released their second album “Nights Out” through Because Music label, which reached number 5 in the 2008 NME Best Albums Chart. They released three more albums until 2016, “The English Riviera”, “Love Letters” and “Summer 08”. The last includes a collaboration with Robyn on the single “Hang Me out to Dry”.
