METZ Bio
Metz (also stylized as METZ) is a Canadian noise punk group, founded in 2008, in Ottawa and based in Toronto. The band is composed of Alex Edkins, Hayden Menzies, and Chris Slorach. They released their self titled debut album on the label Sub Pop in 2012. The album made it to the Polaris Music Prize list on the next year, and they began to perform at local venues. In 2015, the band released their second album “II” which included the single “Acetate”. The album reached number three on the 2015 U.S. Heatseekers Album Chart. In 2017, they released their third studio album “Strange Peace” which was recorded by Steve Albini. They have collaborated with artists such as Swami John Reis and Fresh Snow.
