Mi Casa Bio

Mi Casa is a trio house band that was formed in 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The members of the band are Dr. Dada, born Sipho Philemon Mphahlaza, who is the producer and pianist, J’Something, born João da Fonseca, who is the vocalist and guitarist, and Mo-T, born Moshe Philip Kgasoane, who is the trumpeter. They met each other at a night lounge and, after performing together, they decided to create the band. A few months later they released their first album called “Mi Casa”. Their first single “These Streets” earned them national recognition. Their second single “Heavenly Sent” reached No. 1 on both radio and music video charts and earned the band several nominations at the South African Music Awards. This popularity made them open many international artists' shows like Layabouts, Reel People, and Drake. In 2013 they released their second album “Su Casa” and the third one came in 2015 and was called “Home Sweet Home”. This last one included collaborations with other artists like Cassper Nyovest and Big Nuz. After several other albums, they signed with Universal Music in 2020 and released their fifth album “We Made It”.
