Born on November 20th, 1995 in Sydney, Australia, Michael Clifford is a singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. As a member of the Australian pop/punk rock band 5 Seconds of Summer, which also features Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood, and Luke Hemmings, he is responsible for being the band's lead guitarist. While he was attending Norwest Christian College, he became friends with the other members of the band that would later become 5 Seconds of Summer. Since 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer have sold more than 10 million albums, have sold over 2 million concert tickets worldwide, and the band's song streams have surpassed 7 billion, making them one of the most successful Australian musical exports in the history of the country. In addition, Michael has received over half a million views on YouTube for his cover of Chris Brown's song "Next to You," which he performed in 2011 with the band 5 Seconds of Summer.
