Michael Fassbender was born on April 2, 1977 in Heidelberg, West Germany. He made his acting debut in the miniseries Band of Brothers (2001), which was directed by Phil Alden Robinson. He took part in a ten-part radio serialization of Dracula in 2003. He gained mainstream success for his part in the movie 300 in 2006, which he starred in with Gerard Butler. He starred in Jonah Hex in 2010 and appeared in Blood Creek in 2011. Fassbender joined the X-Men franchise in the role of Magneto for X-Men: First Class, a prequel to the established canon. He was nominated for a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for his role in Shame (2011). He also appeared in The Counselor, 12 Years a Slave and reprised his role as Magneto.
Fassbender played Steve Jobs in the film of the same name, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. He played Macbeth in 2014 and joined the cast of the Assassin’s Creed adaptation in 2016.
