Michelle Gomez is a Scottish actress. She was born on the 34rd of November, 1966, in Glasgow, Scotland. She studied drama at the Shawlands Academy and later at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She landed her first big role in the film “The Acid House” based on Irvine Welsh short stories. Later, she starred in the comedy drama “The Book Group” and in “Green Wing”. In 2005, she appeared in the movie “Chromophobia”, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2007, she starred in the film “Wedding Belles”. She joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2008, where she performed in several productions like “The Taming of the Shrew”. In 2012, she starred in the movie “The Wedding Video” and in the same year she appeared in the comedy series “Bad Education”. From 2014 to 2017, she portrayed Missy in the acclaimed series “Doctor Who”, for which she was nominated as Best Actress at the 2015 British Academy Scotland Awards.
