Michelle Heaton, born Michelle Christine Heaton on July 19, 1979 in Gateshead, England is a British singer and actress that began her music career in the late 1990s in the group called Sirens. Michelle left the band before the release of their debut single and pursued her music elsewhere.
In 2001 Michelle competed in the Popstars contest. She was a runner up with the group of four other girls that failed to make the final cut and form the band Hear’Say. The runners up were formed into their own girl group called Liberty X. The group signed to Richard Branson’s label V2 Records. Liberty X was active as a group from 2001 to 2005 and had seven Top 10 singles including “Just A Little” which reached number 1 on the UK Singles Charts. The band’s debut album, Thinking it Over, charted in at number 3 in 2002. Michelle and Liberty X went on to release two more albums called Being Somebody, and X. Michelle and Liberty X went on to win 2 Brit Awards for Best British Single and Best British Breakthrough Artist.
