Mickey Rourke was born as Phillip Andre Rourke on September 16th, 1952 in Schenectady, New York. Even though he is an American actor and a screenwriter, his early years went by being a strong boxer. In Miami, he multiplied his boxing skills as he had numerous wins in boxing matches until he was told to take rest by doctors. Starting his acting career from Steven Spielberg, he managed well himself to play leading roles in huge hits such as “Angel Hearts” and “The Pope of Greenwich Village”. Even his dedication in the movie “Diner” earned him an honor as Best Supporting Actor of the year by “National Society of Film Critics”. Also starring in “World Orchid” movie brought him a nomination for a Razzie Award. Rourke’s screenwriting debut was made on “Home Boy” which was a boxing tale. His performance in drama “The Wrestler” has won more than dozens of awards where he got two awards as best villain for his revolutionary casting in “Iron Man II”.
