Miesha Theresa Tate was born on August 18, 1986 in Tacoma, Washington. She was very active in sports growing up and went on to play sports in college. At the age of 20 she attended a wrestling match, which made her decide she wanted to base her career on wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She won a FCF women’s bantamweight championship for the first time and later on in 2009 she increased her popularity by winning a Strike Force women’s bantamweight championship.
In 2013, she joined the Ultimate fighting championship and managed to win in 2014. She went on to win against an Olympic medalist leading to her being named a top fighter with foxsports.com and in 2016 she retired having won a silver medal in the FILA Grappling Championship. Miesha has also modeled for various websites and publications like ESPN the magazine and Fitness Gurls.
