Mike Dawes is an English guitarist, arranger, and composer best known for his playing style that involves multiple simultaneous melodies. He was born in Guildford, Surrey, England, on July 21, 1989. Although Mike began his musical career as a pianist, he eventually discovered that he had a lot more to express on a guitar. He greatly improved his guitar technique as a teenager playing alongside fellow guitarists Seth Lakeman, Tommy Emmanuel, and Newton Faulkner.
His discography includes the hit singles Somebody That I Used to Know, Slow dancing in a Burning Room featuring Mick Johnston, Titanium, Scarlet, and the albums What Just Happened, Era, and Shows and Distancing: Live in the USA. For two years in a row, Mike was named Best Acoustic Guitarist in the World by Total Guitar Magazine/MusicRadar.
