Miss May I (as known as MMI) is an American metalcore band from Troy, Ohio. The founding members met in a high school and formed the group back in Dayton in 2006. The founding members are Levi Benton (singer), BJ Stead (guitarist), Justin Aufdemkampe (guitarist), Jerod Boyd (drummer), and Ryan Neff (bassist/vocalist, who left in 2007 and rejoined in 2009).
MMI quickly established themselves through a series of demo recordings which landed them a contract with Rise Records. Apologies Are for the Weak, their 2009 debut album quickly followed. Tours with bands like Carnifex, Blessthefall, and The Devil Wears Prada followed in the coming years before they returned to the studio. In 2010 they released Monument with Joey Sturgis as the producer. The album reached number 76 on the Billboard 200 and was their most famous record.
