Maurice Williams, widely known as Mo Williams, is a basketball coach and former NBA player born on December 19, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. Utah Jazz selected him as the 47th overall pick in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft. He played with the University of Alabama Men's Basketball team from 2001 to 2003.
Mo has played with Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Charlotte Hornets. He won the NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. His accolades include McDonald's All-American (2001), Third-team Parade All-American (2001), Mississippi Mr. Basketball (2001), SEC Freshman of the Year (2002), Third-team All-SEC (2003), and NBA All-Star (2009).
Mo was the CEO of Mo Williams Academy from 2009 to 2016. He founded MAURICE MO WILLIAMS FOUNDATION in March 2004. Mo worked as Director Of Basketball Operations for Drive Nation. He was an Assistant Basketball Coach for California State University and a Head Basketball Coach for Alabama State University. He currently coaches at Jackson State University.
