Moneybagg Yo, born as Demario White on September 22nd, 1991 in Memphis, Tennessee is an American rapper that made his name by the releasing standalone singles that, overtime, grew his audience. His singles catalogue includes popular jams like the track “Sick of It” featuring P.C. and 2Much which received over 120,000 views after it was released.
In 2015 he released a series of mixtapes entitled Relentless, Federal and All Gas No Brakes. All Gas No Brakes debuted at number 51 on the Itunes charts. The next year saw the release of three more Moneybagg Yo mixtapes: Federal Reloaded, ELO (Everybody Lives On), and 2 Federal. The mixtape Federal Reloaded, a rerelease and reincarnation of Federal from 2015, featured prominent appearances from rappers Y Grizzle, Young Dolph, and OG Boo Dirty and also won a Memphis Hip-Hop Award for Mixtape of the Year.
Moneybagg Yo’s second mixtape of 2016, ELO (Everybody Lives On), featured an appearance by Yo Gotti on the track “A Lot of Em”. The duo continued to work together on a joint mixtape called 2 Federal, which eventually led Yo Gotti to sign Moneybagg Yo to his label CMG in October of 2016.
