Monique Coleman is an American actress, dancer, and singer born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on November 13, 1980. She is best known for her role as Taylor McKessie in the High School Musical films. She started performing as a kid in plays at the Workshop Theatre School of Dramatic Arts. She started landing roles in local and regional commercials. In 1997 she made her debut in film in the movie The Ditchdigger’s Daughters and continued landing roles in the films The Reading Room, High School Musical, High School Musical 2, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Promise Rings, We Are Family, Free the Nipple, Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, and Witness Infection. She made her debut in a television show in 2003 in the series Strong Medicine and has since had roles in the shows, Boston Public, Gilmore Girls, Malcolm in the Middle, Veronica Mars, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Stitchers, Miranda’s Rights, Guidance, Downtown Girls, Here We Go Again and others. Throughout her career she has been nominated for several awards and has won two Teen Choice Awards, an American Music Award, a 19th Annual Young Artist Award and more.
