Monté Morris Bio
Monté Morris (born June 27, 1995 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA) is a Nigerian American Professional basketball player most renowned for playing guard position for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League, and the Denver Nuggets of the NBA.
Monté Morris was raised by his mother, Latonia Morris in Flint, Michigan. His father passed away from a heart attack when he was a child so Monté was pretty close to his mother.
He wanted to play basketball like his mother, a coach on the junior varsity basketball team at Beecher High School in Flint, Michigan, so much that as a child, he dribbled imaginary balls. At 4, Monté was already trying to execute a left-handed layup.
Morris attended Flint Beecher High School. He became a four-year starter for the Beecher Buccaneers in Michigan and led the Buccaneers to success in all four seasons.
Morris went on to play for the Iowa State Cyclones following his successful high school career. In his first year at Iowa, he broke the NCAA record. In 2017, Morris was selected during the second draft to play for the Denver Nuggets.
Following the summer league, he signed a contract with the Nuggets, a contract that allowed him to split his time between playing for the Nuggets and a G League team.
