Moya Brennan is a singer/songwriter born on 4th August 1952 in Dublin, Ireland. She started singing in 1970 when her family formed a musical group called Clannad. She was at the forefront of the band and soon became popular in the Irish music scene. She released 17 albums with the band and won a BAFTA, Grammy, and an Ivor Novello award.
Brennan released her first solo album, titled “Maire,” in 1992 on the label Atlantic Records. She released Whisper to the Wild Water and Perfect time on World Records. She has so far recorded over 25 albums and sold more than 20 million records. Brennan and the Clannad band are considered the pioneers of modern Celtic music, and they are recognized for their contribution to modernizing traditional Irish songs. Her sister Enya is the best seller in New Age.
