Mr. Big Bio

Four members American rock band Mr Big was formed by Billy Sheehan in 1988 with Paul Gilbert, Eric Martin and Pat Torpey. Within a year of their formation, the band signed a deal with Atlantic Records and released their first album. The album became a massive success in Japan. Their second album, ‘Lean Into It,’ launched the into mainstream rock. Two ballads in the album, ‘To Be With You’ and ‘Just Take My Heart,’ topped the charts in many countries. They began to have sold-out tours and became a rage in the Japanese market. In 1999, Gilbert was replaced by Racer X. Richie Kotzen. With the new lineup, the band released two albums, ‘Get Over It,’ and ‘Actual Size.’ The first single in the latter album took the number spot on the Asian music charts. Mr Big is one of the bands that were part of the ‘Big in Japan’ wave, where the band received disproportionate popularity in Japan compared to other countries.
