Mudvayne is a rust belt metal band currently in hiatus as of this writing. They were one of the pioneering nu-metal bands in flyover country, frequently compared to Slipknot. The group formed around lead singer Chad Gray, and they self-published a couple EPs until finding a contract with Epic Records in 2000. Their debut studio album was “L.D. 50.” The next year saw them pocket an MTV Video Music Award for their debut single, “Dig.”
Mudvayne continued to release four more studio albums, and charted surprisingly well for their niche genre, reaching #2 with “Lost and Found” (2005) on the Billboard 200. Their first three albums are all certified gold, and their single releases routinely made the top-ten on the Billboard US Mainstream chart. They’ve toured with artists including Nothingface, Slayer, Slipknot, Metallica, Hellyeah, and Sevendust.
