Mýa Bio

Mýa, born Mýa Marie Harrison, is an actress, singer, and dancer, with a lauded career spanning four decades. Born the daughter of a musician, she took music and dance lessons in childhood, eventually studying at the Dance Theater of Harlem and performing at the Kennedy Center at age twelve. Her self-titled debut studio album was released in 1998, certified platinum.

Mýa has gone on to be a stellar success in every art she has pursued, from the #1 charting song “Lady Marmalade” from the film “Moulin Rouge!” (2001), to the #1 charting “Ghetto Supastar” with Pras featuring Ol’ Dirty Bastard, to roles in the films “In Too Deep” (1999) and “Chicago” (2002), to roles in TV series such as “Punk’d,” “Yo Gabba Gabba,” and “WWE Raw.” She is the award winner of one Grammy, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Teen Choice Award, among many, and a noted philanthropist through founding The Mýa Arts & Tech Foundation.
