Natty Nation Bio
Natty Nation is a roots, rock, reggae, dub band based in Madison, Wisconsin, with over twenty years in the industry. The band consists of JAH Boogie (bass and vocals), Richard Hildner (guitar), and Olen Franklin (drums). Collectively, the group’s sound is influenced by T.U.G.G., Alborosie, The Skints, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Marley, as well as Earth, Wind & Fire.
Natty Nation’s 1998 album, Earth Citizen, was listed by Madison Alt-Weekly Magazine as one of the top 25 Madison pop albums of all time. They had released one album prior to this (1996’s The Journey Has Just Begun), but it was their second album which really launched their success. In 2008, Natty nation released their Reincarnation album, and their latest project, Divine Spark, is set to be released early this year. During their 20+ year career, Natty Nation has toured with big names like Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Beenie Man, and Steel Pulse.
