Neil Norman Burger was born in 1963 in Connecticut. He is a television director, writer, and producer. After obtaining a fine arts degree from Yale University, Burger started his career by directing music videos and commercials. It was in 2002 that he made his directorial debut in Interview with the Assassin. It won awards from both the Woodstock Film Festival and the Avignon Film Festival. He then worked on The Illusionist (2006), The Lucky Ones (2008), Limitless (2011), Divergent (2014), and Insurgent (2015). He was also the executive producer for Allegiant in 2016. He most recently directed The Upside, which featured Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston.
