Neil Finn Bio

Neil Finn, whose real name is Neil Mullane Finn, was born on May 27, 1958, on Te Awamutu, New Zealand. He was one half of the duo Split Enz which he formed with his brother Tim Finn.

In 1998, he released the album Try Whistling This which charted in several countries, topping the charts in Australia and New Zealand, making it to No. 5 in the UK charts and No. 19 in the US Heat Charts. He released another album Sessions at West 54th in 2000 and a third effort, One Nil, dropped in 2001. His other albums include 7 Worlds Collide, Dizzy Heights, and Out of Silence.

Finn has also contributed music to different soundtracks to film and television. The Song of the Lonely Mountain, for instance, was included in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’s end credits.
