Neil Hilborn is an American slam poet born on the 8th August 1990 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He is a CNPS (College National Poetry Slam) Champion, and honors graduate from Macalester College with a degree in Creative Writing (2011). He became interested in creative writing at an early age, writing his first poem when he was 8. OCD, his best-known poem, got more than 75 million views in late 2013, and also Our Numbered Days his debut book, is widely available. Neil, as a member of the Macalester Poetry Slam team in 2011, got the team to rank first at the 2011 College National Poetry Slam. He also coached the 2012 Macalester Poetry team and helped them finish at second place nationally. Being a member of the Minneapolis adult National Poetry Slam team in 2011 helped place them 5th out of 80 teams from cities across the country at the adult National Poetry Slam. Neil is the co-founder of a Macalester literary magazine called Thistle. He has also run numerous writing workshops with college and high school students. His work has been featured in publications such as Borderline Magazine and Orange Quarterly.
