Nelson Cruz was born in Las Matas de Santa Cruz, the Dominican Republic on July 1, 1980. He has been part of the All-Star Games six times, in 2009, from 2013 to 2015, in 2017, and 2018. He also received the AL ALCS MVP award in 2011. He won two silver sluggers, in 2015 and 2017. He has also been the Player of the Month of the American league in April 2015. Cruz started as an and he was traded to the Oakland Athletics in 2000. He was then traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2004 and the Texas Rangers in 2006. In 2013, he became a free agent and signed with the Baltimore Orioles. When he became a free agent in 2014, he signed with the Seattle Mariners.
