Nev Schulman is an American actor, producer, television host and photographer born in New York City, New York on September 26, 1984. He is best known as the subject of the documentary film Catfish and the host and producer of the television series Catfish: The TV Show. Schulman became interested in photography in his late teens after studying dance for a number of years. He and his brother started a film and photography production company and he would photograph ballet. In 2010 he became the subject of the documentary film Catfish after falling in love with a girl he met online and finding out she wasn’t who she said she was. He became the host and executive producer of the show Catfish: The TV Show on MTV in 2012. In 2014 he released his book In Real Life: Love, Lies & Identity in the Digital Age that talks about what he’s learned from his experience of being catfished and from what he’s seen on the show he hosts.
