Born in 1989, Lil Mama (Niatia Jessica Kirkland) is an American rapper born in Brooklyn, New York. Lil Mama signed with Jive Records in 2006 and released her first album “VYP (Voice of the Young People)” two years later in 2008. Singles from the album include “NYNYLALA” and “On & On & On.” The album peaked at #25 on the Billboard 200 chart and got her nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards. Lil Mama has an extensive list of collaborative efforts with big names such as Avril Lavigne, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, and Mishon Ratliff. Aside from her music, Lil Mama has also appeared in biopics ‘When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story” and “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story”
