Nick Bilton Bio

Nick Bilton is an author, journalist, and screenwriter born in Darlington, County Durham, UK. He works as a special correspondent at Vanity Fair, reporting on technology, culture, society, the future, and politics. His reporting contributed to lifting the ban on using devices on airplanes credited by the United States Federal Aviation Administration.

Nick has appeared on TV news channels, including BBC, Fox Business, CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, and CBS This Morning. His works have appeared in Wired, Engadget, Scientific America, ABC, CNet, and AlleyInsider. He has worked at the New York Times and the Bits blog.

The former adjunct professor for NYU is the author of  I Live in the Future & Here's How It Works: Why Your World, Work, and Brain Are Being Creatively Disrupted (2010), Hatching Twitter: A True Story of Money, Power, Friendship, and Betrayal (2013), and American Kingpin: The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road (2017). In addition, he is credited for writing and producing Fake Famous (2021), The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley (2019), and Hatching Twitter. He is the former host of Vanity Fair and Cadence13's podcast Inside the Hive with Nick Bilton.
