Nick Hakim Bio

Nick Hakim is an American singer based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from Washington, D.C., and is of Peruvian descent. The 26 year-old artist had always wanted to pursue music, studying production, advanced harmonies and composition at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Nick’s first release was a back to back EP titled ‘Where Will We Go Pt. 1’ and ‘Where Will We Go Pt. 2’ in 2014 under his own label, Earseed Records. His track ‘I Don’t Know’ off the second EP currently has 14 million plays on Spotify. In 2017, he released his first debut album under ATO Records titled ‘Green Twins’, which gained an outstanding review from NPR Music describing the artists song writing skills to “honor his own complexity and the complexity of love… delivered through brilliant, pillowy, jazz-inflected arrangements”. Nick’s Green Twins’ has been a huge success comprised of his most popular songs ‘Bet She Looks Like You’, ‘Cuffed’, ‘Roller Skates’ and ‘Needy Bees’ all with over 4 million plays on Spotify. ‘Needy Bees’ was also featured on the HBO show, Insecure. The New York Times praises Nick Hakim’s sound stating “his delicate guitar work and hazy harmonies make him a singular and vital presence in the genre. His 2014 EPs have been exercises in restraint, drenched in liquor and physicality.”
