Nightwish is a symphonic metal band formed in Kitee, Finland in 1996. The group members are Floor Jansen (vocals), Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards), Marko Hietala (bass & vocals), Emppu Vuorinen (guitars), Kai Hanto (drums), and Troy Donockley (pipes, flutes, whistles, & vocals). Their style is goth metal, heavy metal, and progressive metal. They are known for their rich melodicism, dynamic textures, and theatrical approaches. Some of their song highlights are “Amaranth”, “Bye Bye Beautiful”, “Wish I Had an Angel”, “Ghost Love Score”, and many more. In the movies, they are known for their work on “Alone in the Dark”, “The Cave”, “The Book of Fate”, “Imaginaerum”, “Metal Evolution”, “Rock Suomi”, “Boogie”, “The Book of Fate”, etc. They have been nominated for an MTV Europe Music Award - Regional, and a Stinker Award.
