Nikki Lane was born on October 17, 1983 in Greenville, South Carolina. She dropped out of high school and moved to Los Angeles to work for a fashion designer. Her interest in music came later in life when she experienced a heartrending breakup in Los Angeles that led her to write a song to express her emotions. She wrote her first song at age 25 and realized this was her calling; with that, she moved back east to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue music full time.
Her first songs, “Gone, Gone, Gone” and “Walk of Shame,” first came out in 2011. In 2013, she signed with New West and has since released several other labels. These include “All or Nothin’” in May 2014, and her pivotal “Highway Queen” in February of 2017. Her boyfriend, Jonathan Tyler, helped her to produce the latter album and she has since performed for KCRW Radio Station, as well as the 30A Songwriters Festival in Florida.
