Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a producer, actor and screenwriter hailing from Denmark. He made his stage debut in Hamlet as Laertes. It wasn’t, however until his role in the Danish film Nightwatch that he became famous in his own native country. He followed this up with Misery Harbour and made his debut in British cinema alongside Mick Jagger and Jude Law in Bent.
His first American production was Black Hawk Down, made by the well-known director Ridley Scott. He is currently best known for portraying Jaime Lannister on HBO’s mega-hit series Game of Thrones. He has received nominations for his portrayal from the People’s Choice Awards, Critics Choice Awards and Saturn Awards. He most recently will be see in in the film Domino, set for release in 2018.
